Vonda Korpela

Vonda Korpela passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at the age of 94. She was born in Harrison County, MO, the daughter of Merten Mendenhall and Kathleen Dryer.

She made life-long friends wherever she lived which included California, Illinois, Colorado, Kansas, and Iowa. 

She knew Jesus as her Lord and Savior, and often cited the hymn, “Surely the Presence of the Lord Is in This Place,” as her favorite. She loved reading the newspaper and staying current on all the latest news, especially college basketball and the NFL. She had a green thumb and enjoyed her beautiful flower beds.

She loved her family. She is survived by her sons Mark and Ned (wife, Danni-Lynn), and daughter Martha (husband, Jack), grandsons Keegan, Owen, Quinn and Aiden Korpela and granddaughter Claire Enriquez (husband, Aaron). She is predeceased by her parents, sister Donna Jokinen, and husbands Mick Tomlinson and Gilbert Korpela.

The family wishes to thank Hillcrest Home for their exceptional care, and friends Tanya Stephens, Rita Ford, Jennifer Randolph, Carol Davis, Brenda Nelson, and Wai-May Lim whose love and care for Vonda was greatly appreciated.
