Rhea G. Hambright, 93, of Davenport, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2024.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 15th at St. John’s United Methodist Church (109 E 14th Street) in Davenport from 9:00AM to 10:30AM followed by a memorial service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. John’s United Methodist Church, The Center, or Tunnels to Towers.
A true gentle man has passed away, Rhea knew no strangers; always shared a kind word and smile and was loved by all who knew him. He lived his life with a great sense of humor. His hard-working ethics and love of life were an inspiration to those around him. Rhea was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church for 71 years. His love of God was strong, and he lived his life through faith. God and family were a blueprint for his life. Rhea was one of the original volunteers and organizers for the Quad City Honor Flight. He was an avid Hawkeye fan who loved watching sports and regularly attended the Grid Club. He was a member of the Davenport School Board and was often seen at West High sporting events.
Rhea is lovingly remembered by his wife Darlene “Skip” Hambright, his children Craig (Jane) Hambright, Deb (Jeff) Kinnemann, Mark Hambright, Brad (Lori) Hambright and Matt (Deb) Hambright. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
Rhea was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and a great grandson.
To honor the great Hawkeye fan that Rhea was, we welcome all who attend his service to join us in wearing Hawkeye gear or black and gold attire.
