Rena L. Sweely

d. November 26, 2024

Rena L. Sweely, a beautiful soul, went home to the Lord on November 26, 2024. A simple, kind and loving woman at the age of 52 was called after her battle with lung and bone cancer. This warrior will be remembered for her courageous battle and in the end she got what she had desired all along, peace and free of pain. Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded by Schroder Mortuary Inc. Graveside services will be 10:00am Monday, December 9, 2024 at Greenview Memorial Gardens in Silvis Illinois.

Dear Rena was blessed over the years with three loves. Chris and Rena were united in marriage on August 23 1991. Sadly he departed in December 2012. Two children were born and sadly they each passed at birth. Chris, their son Christopher and daughter Rebecca are still loved and missed. Rodney Randall was a friendship that bloomed to much more. His passing in November 2019 hurt deeply. Last but not least is her companion Jason Watson which she cared for deeply.

Over the years Rena worked as a CNA, babysitter to her nephews and a housewife. She loved Pooh bear so much she had him tattooed on her ankles along with Piglet! You couldn’t round one corner of her home without running into a Pooh. What a joy she was and her sassy attitude will be truly missed.

Those left to celebrate her life is father Elmer Hepner of Geneseo, sisters Helenna (Dewayne) Freeman of Sherrard, Hope (John) Wicker of Spearsville Louisiana, brother Neal (Dixie) Hepner of Blue Grass Iowa, her boyfriend Jason Watson, and a sister in law Jenn-Rose plus many nieces and nephews. Proceeding her in death is her husband Chris Sweely, her children Christopher and Rebecca, mother Mary Hepner, sisters Patricia Anderson and Elizabeth Mrosko and her beloved dog Lil’ Britches.

We weep over her passing but rejoice in the fact that she is with the Lord. We grieve deeply but find solace with the hope of the word from our Lord that he is with her and with us. The Lord’s grace has touched her and will touch us as we journey through today and tomorrow.
