Nancy S Passini

June 8, 1937 — July 1, 2024

Silvis

Nancy Sue Passini was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. For many years, Nancy bravely battled various cancers, but never complained as she lived every day to the fullest. Nancy finally left this world to join her late husband, John, on July 1, 2024, at the age of 87.

Nancy was born to Ella and Edwin Malmstrom on June 8, 1937, in Mystique, Iowa. She graduated from United Township High School and married John Passini. Together they raised three children before she began her work career at Anchor Lumber and later at the Maid Rite. Anyone Nancy met became an instant friend. Nancy loved to collect and sell antiques, crochet, sew, and paint porcelain. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

During her life, Nancy volunteered at Illini Hospital in the gift shop and was the head of the Candy Stripers. Nancy enjoyed crafting to support various charities. She donated knit caps to cancer patients and children in need.

Survivors include her children Edwin (Mary) Passini of Thornton, CO, Carol (Dan) Thomas of Silvis, IL, and Georgann (Mike) Sturts of Homosassa, FL. Also surviving are her sisters Pat Brandmeyer, Merry (Frank) Noah, and Becky (Dan) Miner. Nancy also leaves behind her grandchildren Dale Thomas, Hillery Sturts, Linda (Michael) Hillbloom, Vanessa Passini, Paul Sturts, Jacob (Alison) Passini, John Sturts and many great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John, her parents, brothers Ike and Dale, sisters Beth, Judy and Joann.

A celebration of life will be scheduled at a future date. Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
