Micheal D. Coy

Michael Dean “Mike” Coy  passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on Wednesday, December 20, 2023.

Mike was born on June 23, 1963 to Jerry and Ruthie (Stiles) Coy. He grew up in Davenport, IA where he attended school and worked for many years in the food service industry most notably as a cook for Riefe’s restaurant for nearly 30 years. At 8 years old he would pick up trash in the Riefe’s lot for which Delmar Riefe would “pay” him in cherry Pepsi.

Mike loved his family and was a trusted and loyal friend to many. He enjoyed bowling, watching the Green Bay Packers and stock car racing, especially NASCAR’s Mark Martin. Mike will be remembered by all who knew him for his big heart and his love of fun.

Those left to honor his memory include his sister, Melissa, his nephews Jeremy Hubbard (Amanda Hahn) & Deric Lacy, great nieces Mya and Audraya, great niece on the way, Kehlani Ann, his aunts, Mary Lou Goodfellow and Sherry Gales and cousins Dion Cobb (Jana), Deric Gales, Toni Coy-Price (Brent) and Gay Linn Eckman (Jed) and his lifelong friend, Barry Smith who like many others was family, not blood, but family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his cousin Janet Basye.

Per his wishes cremation rites have been  accorded and a Celebration of Life for Mike will be held at a later date.
Rest well, Mike, you cheated death so many times, you’ve earned it!
