Mary Woods

Mary Helen (Kelly) Woods was a caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at age 83 in Silvis, IL.

Mary was born to William Kelly and Helen (Deeney) Kelly on April 7, 1938 in Mason City, Iowa. She spent her adult life in the Quad Cities where she and Gary Woods (deceased) raised four children. Mary retired from the Rock Island Post Office and spent her retirement travelling and spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed travel, especially her many trips to Ireland where she enjoyed the people and researching her proud Irish heritage. She loved all animals and when not with her family, especially her great grandchildren, she spent her free time volunteering and helping others.

The family wishes to thank Genesis Hospice and Illini Restorative Care nurses and staff for their kindness and care during Mary’s last days.

There are no services planned at this time, a celebration of life will be held later this spring.
