Jane Johnston

Jane Lynn (Barker) Johnston 66 passed away May 10, 2022, in an automobile accident. Per her wishes, she will be cremated, and a Celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Jane was born on May 9, 1956, in Sterling Illinois to Patricia (Lacey) and Robert Barker. She grew up in Morrison, Illinois where she met her high school sweetheart David Brown with whom she shared her four children Angela Dawn, Brenda Ann, Crystal Denise and Stefanie Marie with. She was a cook at several fast-food restaurants throughout her life but did her best cooking in her own kitchen.  She had the greenest thumb around, loved planting flowers in her flower beds, growing vegetables in her garden and keeping her house full of plants. She was a collector of frogs, dolls and Native American memorabilia. She liked old cars; her collection included her blue Chevy Nova her custom painted emerald green Maverick.   She enjoyed crafting, going to yard sales, flea markets, shopping at goodwill and Walmart. She was an animal lover. Jane’s jungle of animals over the years included birds, frogs, turtles, cats, dogs, fish, racoons and a skunk. She loved her dogs Ginger and Coco. She enjoyed camping, stock car racing, demo derbys and tractor pulls. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her life partner Dave.  She will be deeply missed by her family.

Those left to cherish her memory, water her flowers and plants, weed her flower beds and garden, dust off her what nots and eat her canned pickles include her Life Partner Dave Adamson. Children Angela, Brenda, Crystal, Stefanie, Stepson Jacob, her favorite son in law Nate. Grandchildren Nicolas, Ashley, Daysha, Jacob, Breann, Alannah, Andrew. Great Grandsons Colton, Lucah.  Brother Doug, Uncle Jim, Aunt Kathy and Several nieces and nephews.

She carried in her arms to heaven her Great Grandson Nash Walker to be reunited with her beloved family. Proceeded in death by her parents, grandmothers Effie and Esther, Brothers Robert Jr and William, Sister Peggy, grandson Raydell, great grandson Nash. niece Penny, many aunts and uncles.  She will have relief from her pain and suffering. Enjoy holding her grandsons while reuniting with her parents and siblings.  May each one of her loved ones left behind find comfort in the memories that they shared with her. May her guardian angel wings protect and guide the ones she holds dear to her heart.
