Elizabeth Ann "Bette" Erdmann, 88, of Milan, IL passed away at Illini Restorative Care on Memorial Day, May 30th, 2022.
Bette was born in Milan, IL on October 9th, 1933 to Lloyd and Elizabeth Seefeldt. She was the youngest of 7 children. She married Kenneth L. Erdmann in July of 1951 in Huntsville, AR. Kenny passed away on September 27th, 1981. Bette worked as bookkeeper for Erdmann Pump Co. in Matherville and Erdmann Plumbing & Heating in Milan. She then worked at Franciscan Medical Center for many years, first in the kitchen then the Message Center until retirement. She took a part time job after retirement as a Receptionist at Team Real Estate. Bette was a former member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Matherville, IL, and most recently attended First Southern Baptist Church in Colona.
Left to cherish her memories are her very special friend, Billie Armstrong, her son Douglas (Annie) Erdmann, her daughters Rhonda Mills, Taina Dolan, Karen (Lance) Akers and Darla (Steven Graves) Teager, and one surviving brother, Neil Seefeldt. Bette was blessed with 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Bette loved Country music and dancing. She was an extremely gifted crafter/artist, but her favorites were knitting and crocheting. She loved to go to yard sales, collect dolls, and help at church with clothing drives. She had a huge heart for miniature dogs, especially Min Pins and Chihuahuas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bette's favorite charity, Quad City Animal Welfare Center, where she and other family members have adopted several pets.
Bette will be laid to rest with her husband at the Rock Island National Cemetery at a graveside service on Tuesday, June 14th, 2022 at 2:00pm. The service will be officiated by Pastor Bill Rossow of First Southern Baptist Church. The procession will begin at 1:30 at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis.
